In Schmalkalden, the focus is on the students. Under the motto “Excellent studies”, the most important elements of the degree courses are practical orientation, which enables a quick career start, and a close network of around 200 partner universities worldwide. It's easy to make new friends at Schmalkalden University. Even if you haven't made any connections during your first week, you can always meet someone at CLUB SM, the university's student club. In addition, the university hosts a variety of sporting events, the most popular of which are the  SCHMALYMPICS. These events are excellent opportunities to meet new people and make lasting friendships.
